One day national seminar on 2025 august 21

About the Seminar

  We have great pleasure to inform you that the Chair for Gandhian Studies and Research, University of Calicut in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, University of Calicut is organising a one day National Seminar on 21st August 2025 at the Calicut University Campus.


Theme: Mahatma Gandhi in Kerala: Interventions in Caste, Culture,     and Nationalism


Sub Themes: 

1. Gandhi and the question of untouchability in Kerala

2. Gandhian intervention in Temple Entry and Religious Reform in Kerala

3. Nationalism and Regional Identity in Mahatma Gandhi's perspective

4. Gandhian Thought in Kerala’s Intellectual and Cultural Discourse

5. Mahatma Gandhi’s Dialogues with the Political and Spiritual Leaders in Kerala

6. Contemporary Relevance of Mahatma's Kerala Legacy

Call for Papers

 Papers written in English are invited from Teachers, Research Scholars, Students, Gandhian activists, Media persons, Social activists on the main theme and sub themes.

Sub Themes: 

1. Gandhi and the question of untouchability in Kerala

2. Gandhian intervention in Temple Entry and Religious Reform in Kerala

3. Nationalism and Regional Identity in Mahatma Gandhi's perspective

4. Gandhian Thought in Kerala’s Intellectual and Cultural Discourse

Papers may be e-mailed as soft copies to gandhichair@gmail.com 

Abstract not exceeding 250 words on or before 08thAugust 2025 and the full text not exceeding 3000 words on or before 18th August 2025.


The abstract and full text may be typed in MS Word with 12 font size and double spacing. 


We intend to publish the paper with ISBN provided sufficient papers are received.
